Bird Family Insulation Qualifications
1. We are thoroughly trained in the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR whole-house approach to insulation and weatherization. In fact, we are the ONLY such company statewide to be qualified and listed to perform such services in the Georgia Power HPwES program. (See http://www.georgiapower.com/energystar/es_contractors.asp)
2. We have over 600 homes weatherized successfully throughout metro Atlanta, with 3rd party verification.
3. Our company President, and crew supervisors are trained by GEFA weatherization schools and Building Performance Institute.

5. Your Bird Family Insulation (BFI) crew is trained, experienced, and equipped to perform every aspect of weatherization protocol for your client.
A simple FAX from you, and we go to work:
* After our TEST-IN, we calculate the required D.O.E. and GEFA targets, quote the job, and send you the TEST IN paperwork, signed client docs, and photographs for your inspection and authorization to proceed. Upon your authorization, we return to your client to perform needed improvements, such as:
a. Cellulose insulation (attic blows and drill-n- fill in hollow walls).
b. Sealing air leakage in the envelope.
c. Install bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans; wired to dedicated switches.
d. Properly duct and terminate all exhaust fans to exterior of the home.
e. Install attic ventilation (ridge vents or turtle backs).
f. Duct sealing and wrapping.
g. Pressure testing ducts for successful seals.
h. Vapor barriers installed.
i. Water heater and gas stove CO levels tested, and change-outs where necessary. Unvented gas space heaters replaced.
j. Water conservation measures installed.
k. Refrigerator monitoring, and units replaced where required.
l. Furnace inspection and cleaning, filter replacement.
m. Sheetrock repairs, replace broken window panes, etc. protocol to weatherize your clients home.
n. Smoke and CO alarms installed. CFLs installed.
o. Windows caulked, sashes adjusted, locks adjusted or installed.
p. Door thresholds and weather strip installed, doors removed and re-hung to fit properly.
q. Install water heater blanket & pipe wrap.
r. Install deluxe, insulated and zippered attic stair bonnet.
s. Test-Out and submit paperwork, photographs to your office.
